God is good all
the time; all the time, God is good!
I know this is the July newsletter, but I’d like to go
back to June 25 and share with you what I did that day. June 25, 2025, was a Wednesday, and here at
the Towers, we have a Bible Fellowship class. I got up early this morning to pray and be
prepared for the meeting. I went down
for the meeting, and I must say it was one of the best we have ever had. Jesus was lifted up, and we can feel him
drawing us closer and closer to Him. I
came back to my apartment doing a Snoopy dance, even in the elevator on the way
up. I sat down at my miracle table to
write in my time journal a wonderful, good thank you to the Lord. I glanced down at my calendar to see it’s
Danny’s Birthday. The evil spirit of intimidation
took control of my mind and had a heyday with that. It told my mind what a terrible person you are,
Bob, to forget your Son’s birthday. And
remember, Bob, how terrible you were to him when he was dying. You left him to die alone, with many people
watching. You are going to pay for that
one, Bob. Well, somehow, someway, I
finished the day. I sat down at my
miracle table for my BBB (Bible Before Bed) and asked the Lord why I had such a
miserable day. And here is what He said
to me:
REFUSE TO WORRY, MY CHERISHED ONE. Displace those worry thoughts with trusting
and thankful thoughts. Affirm your faith
in Me, while praising Me for all that I am and all I have done. This combination of praise and trust is
potent. It drives away anxiety and the
powers of darkness. Also, it strengthens
your relationship with me. You may still
have legitimate concerns to deal with, but I will help you with them. As you become more peaceful, you can look at
your problems in the Light of My Presence and seek My counsel. The Scripture informs your thinking so that I
can communicate with you more clearly.
Take time to thank
Me for many good things in your life. I
want you to express greatfulness in your prayers, in your conversation with
others, and in your private thoughts. I
read your thoughts continually, and I rejoice when they contain gratitude. You can thank Me even for things you wish
were different, so that they help you break free from negative thinking. In everything give thanks; this is My will
for you.
Psalm 31:14, but I trust in you, O Lord; I say, “you are
my God.”
Psalm 32:8, I will instruct you and teach you in the way
you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV, In everything give thanks; for
this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

John’s epistle reminds
us to exercise love (1 John 2:7-11) — the right kind of love. Now it warns us that there is a wrong kind of
love, and love that God hates. This is
love for what the Bible calls “the world.”
There are four reasons why Christians should not love “the world.”
BECAUSE OF WHAT
THE WORLD IS.
The New Testament world has at least three different
meanings. They sometimes mean the
physical world, the earth: “God that made the world {our planet} and all things
therein” (Acts 17:24). It also means the
human world, mankind: “for God so loved the world.” (John 3:16). Sometimes these two ideas appear together:
“He (Jesus) was in the world, and the world (earth) was made by him, and the
world (mankind) knew him not,” (1:10).
This “world” they hear is our enemy is an invisible spiritual system
oppose to God and Christ.
“The world,” in the Bible, is Satan’s system for opposing
the work of Christ on earth. It is very
opposite of what God in principle (1 John 2:16). “We know that we are God, and the whole world
lies in the power of the evil one” (5:19 NASB).
Jesus calls Satan, “the Prince of this world.” (John 12:31).
The devil has an organization of evil spirits (Ephesians 6:11-12)
working with him and influencing the affairs of “this world.”
BECAUSE OF WHAT THE WORLD DOES TO US (2:15-16) “If any man love the world, the love of the
father is not in him.”
Worldliness is not so much a matter of
activity as of attitude. It is possible
for a Christian to stay away from questionable amusements and doubtful places
and still love the world, for worldliness is a matter of the heart. To the extent that a Christian loves the world
system and the things in it, he does not love the Father. Worldliness not only affects your response to
the love of God, but it also affects your response to the will of God.
BECAUSE OF WHAT A CHRISTIAN IS (2:12-14) A Christian is a person who has said yes to
believing Jesus is The Christ of the living God, and is born into a new nature,
born into a New Family of LOVE. A Christian
stays away from the world because of what the world is (a systemic system that hates
and opposes Christ), because of what the world does to us (attracts us to live
on sinful substitutes), and because of what he (the Christian) is-- a child of
God.
BECAUSE OF WHERE THE WORLD IS GOING (2;17) “The
world passes away... But he that does the will of God abideth forever.” Jesus explained it this way in John 3:17-18 “For
God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world
through him might be saved. He that
believeth in him him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God.” Love for the world is the love
that God hates. It is the love a
Christian must shun at all costs!
