GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME; ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD!
I am here in THE TOWERS, my forever home. That phrase “forever home” makes me feel what
the adopted kids felt when I placed them
in foster homes and got
them ready for a forever home. I was
supposed to be in Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehab Center for 90 days, but it
turned out to be 150 days. I’m here
now. Everyone in my Church family has
been so helpful and taking care of me during this time. The love and support of fellow believers for
one another is one of the greatest ways to demonstrate the life-changing power
of the gospel.
In First Peter, the apostle was writing a
letter to be circulated among the first-century churches and what’s now the country of Turkey. In that letter, he compels his readers to do
something that his friend Paul wrote about in Romans 12:13: “Practice
hospitality.” Peter said, “Love each
other deeply . . . offer hospitality,”
and he told them to use the gifts God gave them to “serve others” (1Peter
4:810). These are pure directions to all
believers in Jesus for how we are to treat fellow believers.
All of us know people who are in need and
need someone to come alongside and show concern in Christlike love. In God’s strength, we may be among the ones
who are noted for being “so helpful.”
Prayer:
Loving God, help me to look around for people who need an encouraging word or
action from me. Then, help me offer
hospitality to them.
Me: LORD, you know what I have been going through,
and I can feel your presence through it all.
I love you, God. I love you,
God. I love you. I know you know where I am spiritually, but I
need to know where I stand before you. I
only have a few years left, LORD. I
would like to know what the few years left will be. I want you to use me as a helper, helping
others to Jesus Christ. Amen.
JESUS:
YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH ME TRANSCENDS all your circumstances. This is why you can praise Me and enjoy my
presence in the midst of the darkest difficulties. To find me in such times, you have to really
exert your faith; I am always near.
As
a Christian, you live on two planes simultaneously: the natural world, where
adverse situations abound, and the supernatural world, where I reign supreme. Your trust muscles empower you to experience
My Presence, even in your hardest times.
In fact, trials can both strengthen your faith and help you discern how
much you actually trust Me.
I
want you to work on strengthening your trust muscles. One way is to fill your mind and heart with
Scripture. Another is to seek My Face
continually. Instead of getting stuck in
introspection, turn your thoughts to me.
Make it a practice to affirm your faith in Me, whether you’re feeling
confident or adequate. Remember that
your adequacy rests in your relationship with Me. I make you ready for anything and equal to
anything by infusing inner strength into you!
Consider
it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you
know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. –James 1:2-3
Seek
the Lord and his strength; seek His face continually. –Psalm 105:4
I
have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me {I am ready for anything
and equal to anything through Him who infuses inner strength into me; I am
self–sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency}.
– Philippians 4:13 AMP
